  • Backing soda– it is a common product to kill bacteria and microorganisms in carpets. It also removes all kind of pet and smoke odours. You only need to sprinkle the carpet with soda and let it stay during the night. In the morning use the vacuum machine to clean the baking soda from the carpet and all the absorbed smells. If you want to add a nice smell to the freshening process, you can add a few drops essence oil to the baking soda. You might need to repeat the process several times before all unpleasant smells are completely removed.

  • Vinegar – white vinegar is a great product to remove the smells completely. You may use a spray bottle to mist the carpet. It is important to check the manufacturers’ labels to make sure the fabrics will not be damaged. If you do not find the labels you may spray a few drops on the corner and wait for a couple of minutes to make sure the vinegar does not damage the colours and fabrics of carpets. If everything is fine – go ahead and spray a thin layer over the carpet and wait until the carpets dry themselves. At the end all odours will be completely eliminated.
